I've done some googling but I can't seem to find the right info. How much work is involved in, and how much extra hardware is required to convert a race car to road going. Based on an R300 race car for example.

So far:
Front and rear lights - would a loom be required also?
Handbrake - some race cars don't appear to have one, correct or not?
SVA and registration - I presume the same as a new home build, plenty of info online

What would be missing? Could an R300 race car still work out good value as a road legal track day car after converting to road going?

Thoughts and help appreciated

I looked into this a number of years ago but concluded it was too much work/expense. Lights, cage, seats, dash, wiring loom, screen, hood etc. all need to be considered.

And you will still have an ex racer so it will not be worth as much as an original road car.

Year of car?

Front lights and light brackets (loom should be there....but not guaranteed)
Rear lights
Driver and passenger seats
Belts or harness on passenger side
Carpet
Boot cover if car has aluminium cover
Weather gear if you want it
Heater if you want it
Earlier race chassis had under dash handbrake, an R300 car should have a normal handbrake
Instruments that have been removed

An R300 race car does not have any wiring looms fitted for the front or rear lights, also they do not have a handbrake fitted.
