how many mileage wise and how much insurance do some of you fellows pay.... quoted £1300 for just 10k miles on a 99T/1.8/superlight at age 22. is it worth it....

additional... is there a local meet the north west where someone can talk some sense to me and make me (finally) get a caterham. want one, always have.

another - when I was a young lad - last year. a chap took me out in a orange r300, by the name of tony, I know this a long shot but "did you ever get that number plate " R 300 " ??

Of course it's worth it!

I'm 25 and currently pay just shy of £800 for my R400 so I guess your quote is abouyt right.

Who did you get the quote from out of interest? Is it your first Caterham?

For your nearest local meeting try here www.lotus7club.co.uk/7meet.htm then pop over to www.blatchat.com and ask more questions there.
I'm insured through MSM - as are a lot of Caterham owners. Call them and ask for Dave Spragg on 01279 870535. Then go out and get that Caterham

Try the Caterham insurance policy through Adrian Flux. I am 26 and its around 1/3rd of the price for a Superlight R inc trackday cover!

Couldn't find better....

Good luck

Footman James - £280 for 1500 miles, R500 with 2.3 Duratec. Given most miles will be on track, this should be fine.

cool, im also 21 and am looking into getting a caterham. If you can stretch to a new 7 i think they are doing a years free insurance on 'em. or at least they were.

funnily enough i also live in the North-West, i have also noticed that tesco are good for insurance as well and online i get the same quote of £1,500 for 10k miles on anything from the 1.4 to the R400, wierd eh?

Fun is reason enough to get one, plus the fact that they seem to hold their value pretty well.. especially the lower capacity ones. Not too bad on fuel either!

No extra charge? I thought you get only 4 track days, and with a much increased excess.
