Anyone know this R500?

Hi All,

Interested in getting a 7, and this caught my eye. Prior to having a look this afternoon (possibly), I wondered if anyone knew this R500?

Late car...might ask them to have Minister check the engine to give it a clean bill of health, given its current mileage. Also check to see if it has the 101 mods to the engine and that the rev limit is not set at 9200.

Finally, if this is your first Caterham, I would suggest you buy a car with less bhp....duratec 175 bhp R300 is my recommendation. Less peaky car to drive and more forgiving than a k R500 if you do make a mistake.

That sort of money will buy you a duratec car around the same power.....without the grenade.

I recon nice unmolested R500's will become an icon in the future. Like the BD, HPC, JPE, and Superlight R to name a few.
I do think they could be a bit of a grenade though. But shouldn't be a problem if treated simpatheticly.
