Interested in used caterham on their website. Anyone know whether they are 'flexible' on their used car prices?

Never heard of anybody getting a discount on the new ones but no info on second hand ones. This why the resale values hold up.

Used car prices tend to be fixed, but you can get upgrades/fixes thrown in.

When I bought my (used) car from CC Mids the very first thing that the salesman said after I said "I'll take it" was "OK brilliant. Now you do know we don't discount...."

And he was true to his word too!

thanks-swings and roundabouts if lack of discount keeps resale prices solid

Any half decent salesman would say exactly that if a prospective customer gave commitment to buy before discussing the price...

Everything in life is negotiable. Even CC's 2nd hand prices.

I tried, and failed, to get a discount. I did however get meaningful amounts knocked off the extras I bought. Aside from that, I did notice that, when i was buying mine, another car in CC south which they'd had in stock for a while suddenly dropped £500. I am also aware that if you are part-exchanging, there may be some wiggle room. The other thing to consider, I suppose, is that some of their "stock" is just that, and some of it is on SoR: perhaps you may get lucky with a car they can't shift for whatever reason or a vendor that wants out, sharpish.

Sorry, another thing, not all the cars are around long enough to make it onto the website- if you know what you want: ask them, that's how I got mine.

Good luck, they're very civilised and sensible people to deal with, my car hasn't been trouble free but they've looked after me and i would buy from them again- and probably will - if that's sufficient endorsement.

ETA: mine too had a service and a fresh MOT prior to collection; try not to laugh when they tell you the length of the warranty...

As has been said there's no movement on prices but you might get the odd other thing. In my case, they did a service/MOT (it was due in a few months) and trailered the car from South to Midlands for me. I couldn't get a free bobble hat out of them when I picked it up either... biggrin

It does have a postive effect on resale values though obv.

Jason,

Yes and no. Obviously if one is naive enough to just accept the sticker price then yes, I agree with you. However, I'm not naive hence I tried to haggle and strike a deal but failed. I did however get the big 24K service and MOT thrown in smile

Had same reaction to discount at CC South, but they did do some bits FOC and in end put on a brand new set of CR500, which I did not expect.

Does anyone have any experience of their after sales re minor repairs, I have notch 2nd gear selection on 6 speed box
