Compared to a few years ago there are hardly any k-series R500's seen in classifieds, and a similar pattern with R400's as well. Are they all in the hands of keepers now (like myself) while the newer R500's are still swopping hands? Or are they in so much demand that they never get posted on classifieds? Anyone have a view on this?

I have owned my K series R300 from new ,Although now upgraded with an all steel 1.9 Scholar EVO 2 spec engine in my view it's the perfect 7 i have driven a few high spec Duratec powered cars and much prefer mine . An original R500 K series with the number plaque on the dash will be an good investment long term.

I have a K Series R500. It is the first customer car - chassis no 2. I have owned it from new in March 2000 and it has done 4,500 miles. Engine refreshed at Minister about 400 miles ago. I would sell it but not less than £25k.

Apologies for the highjack, but I am compiling a register of numbered Caterhams and have created a web site - www.thecaterhamregister.net

If London GT3 and rubystone would be happy for their car to be displayed, could you please forward a photograph to the webmaster on the Caterham Register

Cheers

PC has always had his gayglo orange one.

I've had:

mallard green VXI press car - L20 CAT, now blue I fink
orange SLR (ring record car)
monte carlo blue k R500 that had an engine blow and the famous cement incident
silver cat d k1600ss that's now languishing on a farm near (ish) to Crawley being turned into a duranail
