Just wondering if there were any new series to race in for 2012 and what others were up to this year. I will do some Mag 7s and perhaps SEMSEC. Are there any other obvious homes for a non-standard 7 (ie all the grads, super grads etc are out for me) this year?

The aborted Brit car Britsports is no more. There are many MSVR series, but nothing seems to suit Caterhams. Any good ideas?

Thanks, James

Hi Jimmy,

Going on your mention of Semsec are you based in the southern region? Do you want to specifically run against caterhams? And do you want to win a championship, win races (ok we all do at some point), or just have some fun around the country?

You can run in a load of championships around the place and take your pick of what races you want to do ......or what tracks you'd like to race at more to the point. DDMC/ NSSCC at croft, BARC/ NWSS at Oulton, SMRC Sports and Saloons at Knockhill, WRDA at Pembrey, 500 something at kirkliston Ireland if you fancy a trip across. Theres a load you could fit into if you like a bit of a treck.

Aplogies if you know all this guff already!!

Good questions... I'm in the south and what with wife, kids, work etc, I prefer being able to get to the track in a couple of hours and not stay away if possible. So, Brands, Snett, Silverstone are all ideal for me. This means Oulton, Cadwell, Anglesey etc not really for me.

I'd prefer other Caterhams or at least some Caterhams if it's a mixed field. I'm relaxed on a championship, in fact actively not interested in trying to win one. I race with a friend and we will happily do 4-6 meets a year at convenient locations around our other commitments. It's a bit of fun for us!

Hello,

I posted a reply on blatchat, but try the Intermarques series, a few Caterhams plus some Tigers as well as other non Sevens. All rounds are south or midlands based and most/all are double headers and good value IMO.

Just had a read through the regs for the intermarque, looks a pretty good series......might try and get to a couple myself.

Agreed the further places are a bit out of the way, my problem is i live in scotland but work away on rotations so ive got to get all the series together and pick what races are on dates im home....although havent ventured down to Lydden or Brands yet.

Good luck for the season though and have some fun.

Agree re Intermarque - just checked it out. We would be competitive in Class B with a K-series without sequential; the bigger engined Duratecs and sequentialled cars will be in Class A I think. Excellent!

Is it me or are the dates/venues yet to be announced? Maybe hidden in the forum which I've just applied to join.

They haven't been finalised yet, but John Chasey has posted provisional dates on your other thread on blatchat. Here is what he said (cheers, Dave) -

Provisional calendar for Intermarques this year is:

Brands Hatch - March 24th or 25th
Silverstone - May 12th
Mallory Park - June 4th (Live on Motors TV)
Lydden Hill - June 16th or 17th
Snetterton - July 21st
Thruxton - August 18th or 19th
Rockingham - Oct 6th
Brands Hatch - Nov 3rd or 4th

Still subject to change but looking forward to Thruxton in particular.
Just got to get the car back on the road now...!

Hi John,

I would love to, and may do the round at Combe. Beth and I are getting married in October, so that's where the racing budget had better be spent this year. I had thoughts of some modifications after that ready for the 2013 season, but looks like your car is going to take some beating. Best of luck this season, I will see you at some stage this year.

Cheers, Dave
