Has anyone added a satnav power point to their Caterham? Would like to be able to plug in a Tom Tom, especially now i have just come across the "Tyre" app for it. Has anyone used Tyre? Looks great for planning your our route rather than being sent along motorways etc. Could be ideal for Blatting trips.

Cheers.

I mount my Tom Tom where the tax disc would normally go. I have recently started using Tyre and it is first class. Really easy to use. I understand that not all Tom Toms support itn mapping so may be worth checking if you are going to buy a new one?

I use Sygic on my Android phone - works great!

Some 'OLD' images of the set-up here: http://freespace.virgin.net/shaw.clan/tomtom.html

This was some time back, but the layout is the same with the new phone/satnav.

Works great, and is easy to see as the satnav display is shaded.

Tyre is a route planner which, when complete, can be imported into TomToms and will keep you on a preplanned route that you've worked out before driving using google maps. Takes a bit of getting used to but works well once set up. Free to download, google it.

CW7 .. if you use a few coats of Autoglyms 'bumper care' on your switches, it will bring them back to black .. the only thing that I found actually works! they don't go back milky after they dry either.

Don't mean to hijack but:-
Looking to buy a Satnav for Swmbo for Xmas - Any recomendations or definite 'dont buys', don't want nothing complicated just a standard satnav, at least that was the plan, or is it worth spending extra for a mid range model? Hopefully the Satnav I buy will do both UK and Europe.
