Hi,

Can't help with the part numbers off hand but WRT your question about the de dion wishbones fitting your live axle chassis, the answer is yes with a small amount of modification. Assuming you have the standard single link suspension, you will need the special mounting plate for the upper wishbone. They are handed and you will need to cut a small oval hole through your sideskin to pass this plate through. It bolts to the two mounting bolts that hold the ARB in place. You can now fit the upper DD wishbone and will need a DD ARB as well.

To utilise the DD bottom wishbone, you will need a small chassis mod. The lug that protrudes out of your chassis will need chopping off and a boss brazing into place which will allow you to use a long bolt (can't remember the diameter at the moment but it has a 19mm head!) and nyloc to fix the wishbone in place.

Don't forget that if you use the bottom DD wishbone, you will need to change your uprights as well to fit the spherical bearings. You will also need to machine two small top hat bushes to fit into the bottom of your suspension as the DD wishbone has a much smaller diameter (5/16th's springs to mind) bolt than the live axle fitting.

Other than that, the stub axles, hubs and track rods ends are transferrable though.

PM me if you want more info. I did this very conversion earlier this year!

Also if you are interested in staying with your trunnion set up, I have some parts available from my rebuild :

Offside front assembly to include upright, trunnion, stub axle, steering arm £50
Offside bottom wishbone for trunnion fitting £30
Offside top wishbone inc top ball joint (this is identical to a narrowtrack DD one with the ball cup for the front ARB) £25

Plus a set of blackpacked interior panels (the long interior sidespanels, arched panels to wheel arch, back panel, centre tunnel). Also the standard ali panel that fits inside the boot and the the turrets tops. Ideal to tidy up a old live axle race or road car. £75 for the lot.

Hi,
Re part numbers, I have a book full re live axle/Ital axle chassis, too long to list but any particulars. Also there is an on going thread on Blatchat (if you have access) for the 1.6 vauxhall engine.
As for the DD wishbones, YOU CAN uUSE the top narrow track wishbone and anti roll bar with the older trunnion upright, you just need to use a QR1118S ball joint. This save the cost of a new upright, lower wishbone and the chassis mod. I have a document with the parts list, if you mail me off line I can send it to you.

Cheers
Chris

Hi,

Hopefully these two pics come through although there isn't much to see. The brackets are supplied by Caterham and can probably be found on their on-line website.

. Yes this is correct. Sorry, I thought it was clear from my post that for the top wishbone only to be fitted, you need this bracket and the hole in the sideskin. You can retain the current upright with the wishbone and excepting the hole in the sideskin, no chassis work is needed. The car I rebuilt had the top wishbone/arb conversion done but retained the trunnion and live axle bottom wishbone. I upgraded to the DD widetrack set up wih new wishbones, uprights and ARB etc.
