Having always despaired of the fact that I cannot fit into a standard Caterham (6ft4) can somebody tell me how much more room there is in a CSR. I am not a stick insect but have had the odd pie in my time! - Do you think I would fit as I have always fancied one (Caterham not pie that is)!

Cheers

The CSR has the SV dimensions, so the cockpit is 80mm longer and 110mm wider.
There's more room in the footwells too.

Just do it! smile

Loads of room for a 6ft 4 person. Try one out at Caterham showroom(s) or at a local L7C meet.

HEAPS of room for you.

I am 6ft 5, 16.5st and fit easily in an SV. Lowered floor was a requirements so I could see out the side window and it gave better wind protection, roll over protection and steering wheel room to boot.

With the pedals in the middle section I have the seat one notch from fully back, with them on the far setting the seat is in the middle.

Need to bring the steering wheel further back so I am going to get a different quick release mechanism (a rapfix jobbie) to bring the wheel 40mm closer and it will be a perfect fit then.

Cheers

Mike, have you tried moving the upper column out a little? Loosen the collapsing clamp that joins the upper and lower columns, draw out the upper column to suit, then re-clamp. Black insulating tape around the bit of column that shows in front of the dash will hide it! I'm "only" 6' but I've found moving the wheel closer gives a much better driving position and prevents you breaking the toggles of the switches when the going gets frantic!!!!

Stu, Yep I have the column as far out as possible and that made a big difference. If I have the pedals set on the farthest position and the seat mid way, the wheel is perfect. I have now put the pedals back to the middle position to get a better clutch action (and also so the missus can drive it) so I have the seat all the way back. Now the wheel is too far away....

Only hassle is I like the gearstick when the seat is mid way rather than how I have it now... all I need is to be able to slide the gearbox back and forwards on a rail like the seat! haha
