my 1.6 block was damaged in an accident and i have found another 1.6 engine which i would like to put my head on. the engine is the 1.6 with distributor. is the block exactly the same as a non dizzy engine.

can i literally just bolt my head onto this engine

Yes, although you have to remove a bit of the block to get the starter to fit. The difference will be obvious when you have the 2 blocks side by side

yeah thats fine i know you have to mod the block to get the rwd starter to fit. just wanted to check the bottom end will be identical to my bottom end. so its just a case of bolting my head onto this block

thats good news

thanks

You may find the cambelt is different, it's likely that your later heqd requires the long auto cambelt, the cambelt fitted to the repalcement block may be a manual one.

ok, thanks for that info, i take it its a simple case of just sourcing the right cambelt for it!

i still have the cambelt setup from the original engine so can compare

thanks
