whats the best way to keep out the heat from the drivers footwell of a R400 duratec ? Im Presuming it must be the exhaust manifold heating everything up around it ? havnt used the car much at all but when i did my feet felt like they were on fire!

The duratecs produced in the last few months have something resembling bacofoil wrapped around the bulkhead/ pedal box area which works to some extent in reducing heat soak. Easy enough to copy I'd imagine. There is less heat transmitted through the SV which is the only reason I bought one instead of an S3. Nothing to do with liking pies smile

It's a very well known and documented problem. There seem to be several ways of helping ease the problem - insulation, bacofoil, tin sheets etc (search this forum). Personally, I moved to the north of Scotland, where I need my feet warmed. Seemed the easiest solution.

My Duratec SV kit arrived back in January with the insulating foil pre-fitted around driver & passenger footwells plus the transmission tunnel.

You can kinda see it here:

Now the good news is that CC delivered me another set of the heat insulation, as if they didn't know it had already been fitted... It's gathering dust in my garage, but you're welcome to it if you want to come and pick it up (Basingstoke).

Cheers

Mike
