I have a slight problem identifying my camshafts in my 2.0 vauxhall engine.
The original builder isn't traceable any more, and I really want to find out the camtiming when I need to replace the timingbelt, or other mods.
I could just time it out, but if someone recognizes anything, it would save me the time.
As far as I remember he talked about "safari"cams with a rally profile. Google didn't come up with those search terms.
I removed the valve covers, and at one of the cams is a P stamped with a arc over it, with the numbers 685.

Just a guess here, would the p be for Piper, with the grind being 685? Maybe a search online for Piper and a quick chat to them to see if it is one of their older models?

Thanks, Dave

Thanks Dave.
That's a good lead. All the other parts from the engine come from SBD, but he also didn't recognize the cam as one of his.
