For only $200 USD I can get a pertonix distributor with an installed ignitor that is quoted as having 5 degrees of advance at 1000 RPM and 25 degrees advance at 4000 rpm. So in theory, if you set it for 10 degrees at 1,000 RPM you will get about 30 degrees at 4000.

I'm looking at this as it is half the price of an Aldon distributor

Any experience out there with the full petronix distributor?

I ended up biting the bullet and ordering an Aldon distributor with ignitor for $400 with shipping across the pond (Ouch!)

Here is the spec:

As an approximation the idle figure is 10 deg B.T.D.C and full advance approx 34 deg BTDC @ 5400 rpm. These are engine rpm.
