Do these come in different compounds?
A good question! When they were introduced they where marketed as being available in two compounds (A60 and A24). The ones I've purchased seem to be neither of these compounds but something in between. To be honest my knowledge of tyres and their marking is not good enough to be sure. I'd like to know more.Edited by DCL on Wednesday 27th July 23:46

Hi, I have another question.
Where's the best place to buy them? I don't need fitting, but I would need them sending to Mallorca.
I'm surprised You didn't ask whoever you bought them from, about compunds.
I'm sure if you google them you'll find suppliers. I bought mine from Caterham and assumed they would be the suitable for track use on a Caterham. As I understand it, the softer is really a sprint/hillclimb tyre, but you are right - I should have asked!Where's the best place to buy them? So which is the better one for a Caterham?
I would presume the A60 being as it's sold by Caterham. But Avon list it a s a Saloon car tyre.
The A24 is listed as a single seater/sidecar tyre, which I would have thought was more like a Caterham.
They're both medium compound.
I think Avon's compound descriptions need to be read carefully. Quoting in full, A60 is a 'Medium compound for saloon car circuit slick applications'. The important word is 'slick' and I suspect it behaves differently on a road legal tyre with a tread pattern.I would presume the A60 being as it's sold by Caterham.
