Well, having not had a chance to use the Caterham much so far i took it on a bit of a mission yesterday.

419 miles through all sorts of weather and all sorts of roads.

It was a great day and I really feel like I'm getting to know the car. As do my ears, my arms, my right leg...

Good effort. That's about as much as I have managed in a day.

I am impressed.

Most I have manage over 40 years in sevens is 250 miles and that was enough for me.

The Lotus Super Seven I had back in the 60.'s needed wipers on the inside of the screen.

You must be determined and able to stand a lot of noise!!

For me it was an impressive 533.1 miles in my R300 in April.
Even more impressively it was my 1st drive in the car smile
Traveled down to Dartford in Kent to purchase it then drove the 9hrs home to NE Scotland.
Must confess to having had more comfortable car journeys and I don't think I looked at the car for a week after getting it back.

My most is 440 miles using 3 full tanks of fuel and arriving home on fumes. This was on the Taffia fish and chip run earlier this year giving it some welly the whole way. I actually found it very comfy although I was deaf as a post by the time I got back, even with ear plugs in.

And getting in my ST the next day felt very odd for the first few miles biggrin

Agreed! The phrase "too much of a good thing" sprang to mind when I got out last night.

R500 K-Series - In Sept 09 from Doussard, South side of Lake Annecy, French Alps to Alyesbury, Bucks - 650 miles.

Today's blat was 168 miles - Antibes, South France - Biot - Valbonne - Gourdon - Caussols - Grelieres - D4085 to Castellane - D955 round Castellane Lake and onto the D202 which is just heaven, cuts through the mountains and finally leads into Nice and then cruise along the Bord du Mer back home. A great circuit!

Just validated on Google maps. We did Montreaux Switzerland to Ruislip Middx in 1 day which was 660 miles in about 10h40m in our SV. Did break it up with a stop in Reims for Champers and the Chunnel.

Very comfortable in an SV with leather seats....... cloud9

R500K - as I recall 500 and something, over about 14 hours, no motorways: French/Italian Alps.

I managed 640 on a run from the Midlands to Spa, dropped my stuff into the hotel, then on to the 'Ring, 4 laps and back to Spa in time for a meal before the restaurant closed (just).

Surrey to Ring, quite a lot of laps and then collapsed in bed, comatosed. Did the drive down starting at 0400 with it raining all the way... with a helmet and aeroscreen!

Guildford to Stelvio in one go, just fuel/coffee stops and a couple of hours relaxing on the ferry.
(Just done a quick check on Google Maps and it reckons 799 miles, so shall we say 800 for cash?)

Approximately 540 miles ....... Warrington (Cheshire) to Arnage (La Sarthe) ....... celebrated my son's 10th birthday then departed for Le mans at 9.30pm. Collected a mate and headed for a 3.30am tunnel, then on to Arnage arriving at 10.30am for breakfast biggrin Mate did about an hour on the M25. This was 2001 and I have not so fond memories of the foot-&-mouth disinfectant pit boarding the tunnel - it covered the exhaust completely! I'd been awake for 42 hours when finally crashing out the following evening at Le Mans!

It's now 2011 and my son has now been twice to Le Mans - today is his 20th birthday drink
