Bear with me I'm very stupid mechanically (I'm also a bit pissed)

I've got a rattle from my exhaust which clearly is coming from the joints between the various sections (actually the joint between where the 4 into one section goes into a one section) It's obviously there because with a little pressure upwards the rattle disappears.

Before I start fiddling with the bolt that seems to hold it together what can I do to tighten up the joint? Does it need something wrapped around the male section?

Thanks guys

The standard fix is to put a long jubilee clip around whichever of the headers is rattling at the point at which they all go into the collector. You can also put s smear of exhaust cement into the 4 holes on the collector when you put it back together as that helps with the gas seal as well as some of the rattling.

I bought an exhaust expander to fix mine after trying all the other methods and somewhat to my surprise it successfully stretched the primaries enough to fit snugly. You may be able to get it done at an exhaust centre.

Not sure whether I've just confused you all - the rattle is (I think) from the joint between two sections of pipe - just after where the 4 goes into one, not at the point that they do

If the rattle is within the 'collector' (the 4-in-to-1 component) that's not normal...
