You outrageous person, I think I've just wet myself.

Please, tell me about your car because next week I shall be driving one off a road somewhere in the south when hopefully, some fool at the main Caterham place lends me a key.

I can feel the purity welling within me.

DeRibble.

Damn right Sir Ben! Will abandon the boss & sproglette somewhere coastal, head inland and make merry along the boulevard of home-countied sensibility for an hour or three's brutal illegality.

The Road Traffic Act. Legislation for people who watch basketball on Channel 5.

Count me in as well. Hell, if its not raining I might even bring the yellow peril along for comparison.

The car is frighteningly fast, I had considered selling it (various family related things) but decided i could'nt do it.

Out of the box from caterham its well specced but theres a few things worth considering.

will reply later, have to goto a meeting.

Great stuff Jezza - e-mail me your mobile and I can assure you of some reasonably well-thought out verbal abuse.

I suspect you deserve it!

(Ditto the one called Corrigible...)

What bits are you interested in...

These are the options on my car.

Full Carbon pack
13 inch magnesium alloy wheels (R500)
Leather seats (backside to big for tillets)
Full weather gear (Quick release option)
Heater
Small front lights
Geodesy cradle and ariel (Factory fitted)
Honeycomb fuel tank protection
Clear indicators
Carpets
Cigarette Lighter
Map pocket

The heater is probably not worth it.
Don't bother with the carpets

Do:-
- Get the exhaust lagged
- transmission tunnel lagged, helps keep the tunnel cool in hot weather
- cycle wings to be glued, maybe even consider the race wing stays.
- smaller lights
- engine bay powder coated

i'm sure there is more..

The beast is going in for 3K service soon

Will get the following done:-

- half doors
- new 7 petrol cap
- keyless ignition

Will probably do the exhaust lagging myself, I have'nt removed the cat yet, the relacement pipe is £300, not cheap.

I am seriously thinking of the carbon fibre tillets, they have a bit more flex than the GRP ones but i need to try them out first.

Thanks so much for posting. It was fantastic seeing a Caterham in the traffic with all the SLs and Bentleys

I was walking to my london pad with headphones on and still heard it WAY before you got to me. It's a real head-turner.

Cheers

Don't get the exhaust lagged it heats the silencer up too much and burns all the packing out! You will end up with an empty silencer which will be very loud but will also lose you power.

No but ackowledged expert on all things exhaust like Ammo has given this advice many times. Most exhausts aren't desiged to cope with lagging and you end up burning the packing up and heating up the silencer beyond what is was designed for.

An R400 only, It was the best plate i could find at the find, a friend of mine bought R300 S and looking back i think R400 S would probably been better.
