Hello - I apologise for not seeing your original post [July10th] I was on holidays until 17th by which time this thread had dis-appeared from the first page, so I missed it, until you re-posted and it again made the first page
How is your car?
I'd appreciate it if you could post up a picture on this thread of your car. I included one of your car earlier in the thread but a more current photo would be good, how about one with the hardtop fitted, and perhaps some of your friends S4 cars too
Be good to keep this thread for all S4 owners to post onto.

Hi Mal - fast response....
as I found out, it wasn´t possible to post 2 images at the same time - so here a current photo of my 1:1. I will send you one with the fitted hardtop, when I have finished the restoring of it. It took some years to find the correct fasteners / overcentre fixings and a good spray for the inner "leathergrain". Hajo

Never did make a Bonnet catch to the drawing you gave me, I'm still looking for an original bonnet catch if you have a spare availble though?
The catch I made, which was fitted to my car when you saw it, was adapted from a Sierra estate rear seat catch, this works a treat and I made it cable operated so it's easy to open too.
Much better than the rubber 'hook' type catches you see fitted to the bonnets of many S4's.
Only other bit I'm looking for is an original 'Later' type sidescreen [the moulded plastic one] so I can make a mould from it and re-make a pair with more elbow room, like those fitted to the latest Caterhams.

Hi Mal, - I am lucky to have kept the spare bonnet catch - a hindsight as I am going to build my 2nd S4 within next 2 years. Most body parts will be new as we managed to get hands on a set of the factory moulds. For the catch I kept the drawings for making one in the next time for someone. You mention the grp (later) door panels: Here we are in a lucky situation. My son works professionally with all sorts of composite materials. Out of the best set I could purchase some years ago, he made a perfect set of moulds without any of the failures of the original panels (too short, unsymetrical etc.). He also adds some strength in the mating area to the Aluminium frame - so no future breaking there. For one owner he made a set out of carbonfibre material, just for saving some weight. You could not notice the modern technology as they have the leathergrain finish outside and the usual satin black surface inside. Please email me directly and I can send you a photo of his doors to see the work in detail. Cheers, Hajo
[quote=7s4whatelseMaybe I can share some informations with you. Near future I have to fabricate my "pedal-box".... Not really a big task when there is a complete car nearby. If interested, please contact.
Cheers, Hajo

Hi Hajo,
Many thanks, any info / dimensions of the pedal box and pedals would be much appreciated (even just a sketch or photos with key dimensions)so I too can fabricate one.
I too have been on holiday, and have an iminent house move, so there is certainly no rush!
many thanks again,
Al

Looks like it's just had a dealer re-tart prior to sale:-(
Non standard dash[why?????], and lousy harnesses instead of the proper 'Lotus' branded seatbelts.
Has a lot of original looking trim which is a plus on an S4
This dealer has had several poor S4's for sale in recent times, notably a red car with half a front wing missing, for silly money, so if you're interested in this car be sure to take someone who knows S4's with you to check it out.
and especially make certain it's an original TC, it's in the dealers interest to try and convince you it is, so beware!!
