Sadly I received the news yesterday from Joe's son Louis to say that Joe died last Tuesday.
Joe's funeral will take place at Saint Joseph Church, Basingstoke RG22 6TY on Friday 11th Feb at 12 midday.

I knew Joe very well from my time living in Basingstoke and he was a great guy, he had a modified black ZR-1 and took great delight in driving it like he stole it as often as possible.

Anyone who knew Joe and wants to attend the funeral then please do.

I first met Joe around thirty years ago when I had my first mustang, he himself was a big mustang and American car fan and had a grabber green Boss 351 mustang himself. We used to talk for ages about American cars, mustangs and 'vettes in particular and take in all the old shows around that time. Sometimes just jumping in a car and driving to known American car hot spots. He was the main inspiration behind me rebuilding my first mustang. He was also a mind of imformation and I learned a lot of things from him, including non auto things like films, film stars and film scores. Even some of life's lessons learnt from Joe still ring in my ears, from our chats over the years.

Unfortunately and regretably, with a change of direction and moving etc, on my part, we lost touch. This happened a few times over the years but Joe was the sort of bloke where you could always pick up with again.

I am totally devastated by his death and my thoughts are with Joe's wife, Pat and son and daughter, Louis and Michelle.

RIP Joe.
Everybody's freind.

Cliffy is right saying Joe was everyones friend. He would always ask me about my cars. He was very close to Lewis which was lovely to see how father and son could be such best friends. Joe was the kind of person who you would want to be your Dad.

I was speechless when Cliff told me last Tuesday. Joe was one of the first people we had the pleasure of meeting when we joined the Corvette fold. He was a petrolhead through and through and always drove his ZR1 how it was meant to be driven. I will miss him. My thoughts are with Louis who was always with him and his family
