Not permanently, but if a mate gets his C2 convertible on the road this year I might swap for the afternoon!

Not unless it's very cheap, adn I grow anotehr driveway space (Think Sciencebird wasn't totally convinced by me keeping the Corvette and my old car whilst buying a more efficient commuter wagon...)

IIRC they're due to start building C7 in summer 2012 so we should be seeing some decent pic's and spec's anytime soon I would think.

In the meantime my C5 (and other cars) are accumulating an ever thicker pile of MOT certificates and tyre bills. £600 spent on a set today and not even the Vette! Doesn't seem worth buying a new
car when the roads are falling apart...

Cheersthumbup I have to say,i was sad to see it go. Even more surprised that my other half shed a tear. She couldn't care less about cars. But really liked that one. I even tried to reasure about getting a new one. But it didn't work. All she said was."But its not that one"

Maybe she thinks she'll have to cancel a few planned shopping trips if you're splashing big cash on a new car? That's about the only thing ever upsets my other half! smile

Nice work with the sale.

I've come close to acquiring a C5 so many times now, but I just can't give up my '87 and couldn't justify two Corvettes in the yard even though I have plenty of space.

I've changed and removed so many parts on the '87 now, improving it bit by bit to the extent that it runs, stops and handles like a dream. Its been really good to me in terms of driver satisfaction, takes me great driving holidays too, so it gets to stay! Its kinda like getting up in the morning and pulling on a Superman suit! Only a Corvette can do this!

In any case, 2011 will be the year of the Chevy pickup for the lady, so that's that!!

I'd say 2 vettes should actually be a legal minimum smile

My fantasy garage would have to include a 1957 Fuelie any colour, 1965 396 Convertible in red, 1995 yellow ZR-1, 2010 Jetstream Blue ZR1, 2011 Carbon Edition Z06 in Supersonic Blue.....and that's just the ones I can think of off the top of my head smile

Oh and a C5-R and a C6.R would be nice smile

I'm not going to buy another Corvette this year, but I'm determined to get the 383 conversion finished on my LT1 and get it back on the track again

I'd have another C5 or try a C6 if prices were low but here in NZ they are a premium. Usually jap imports. Any spec differences with a jap car?
I'd like to try and import one but too much red tape for LHD rules but never say never, the right one may come along...

If the C7 is really different from the C6 Zo6, we'll probably consider one.
