While looking to replace the tyres on my C6, I have seen several references to jacking pucks on American Forums, are these something I need.

I am unsure of their purpose presumabley they fit between a jack and the jacking points.

As I am about to have the Tyres replaced at an outlet, that I guess doesn't see many, if any Corvettes, are they likely to have these.

Cost next to nothing, homemade from some hockeypucks.

Thanks for that link explains it all.

You would think GM would supply them with the car though.

Thanks again

Strange but true - Corvette jacking pucks are available at very modest cost from your local BMW dealer. Same as BMW E46 3-series IIRC.

(... unless of course the C6 needs gold plated titanium ones. biggrin )

Eye bolt size is not that important, you first try one if it fits it's OK. BMW does make a jacking puck but knowing BMW it will be way more expensive than the homemade version.

These ones : (search for a 2004 BMW 315Ci jack pad)

You can see clearly from the youtube video why it's essential to use the pucks. It's unlikely the garage will have them so beware of the fitter who slings the jack under your car and wrecks the bodywork that wraps underneath. My C5 uses pucks in the same way but in my case there was one already in the storage bin in the trunk, don't know if this came with the car from new or whether the first owner had bought one, worth checking.

Thanks for your help guy's, I ended up getting the rectangular ones from the local BMW dealer, £8.68 each, fit perfectly will probably leave them in place.
