C7 to be build in Lansing Mi and not Bowling Green!!
Discussion
A member of my Corvette club recently returned from the factory and was told by a factory insider that their very long term lease expires in 2011 and GM will not be renewing it, and will be moving the Corvette assembly to the very modern and cost efficient lansing plant next year.
The assumption is that they will not tool the lansing plant for a C6 run for just one or two years, but initially tool the plant for the C7 which will begin production late 2011 or early 2012.
He also said that since the Cadillac XLR is discontinued, the BG plant is half empty, and there are a large number of 2009 Corvettes under plastic wrap that have never been shipped to dealers.
