Hi Guys, seeking advice on C6, last few times when I have started the car, I have noticed that it idles unevenly, after a few miles all seems o.k.

Today though, the check engine light has come on and does not go out, performance seems o.k.

The car is not a daily driver but I try and run her every week, seems to idle better if I use the battery charger between runs.

Could it be battery related? always starts o.k. and once running I presume power is supplied from the alternator.

The car is still under warranty so I guess a trip dealers is one answer, I am about 50 minutes from Bauer Millets in Manchester but would like to correct the problem if there is an easy solution.

Have tried the fuel cap seems o.k.

Any advice would be welcome.

Sorry if this has been asked before, have tried search but it appears unavailable at the moment.

I Think if it's under warranty a quick trip to BM's is the best choice!

+1

The only other thing I can think of is to change the brand/grade of fuel and see if that settles it down. It's usually emissions related - as you realise having checked the filler cap.

Could you check the codes on the DIC, should be able to google
how to do it, can do on C5 dunno about C6.
That would give you a starting point.

Googled it smile

1. Turn the key to "on" but don't start the engine
2. Clear any current messages by pressing the rest button
3. Hold the "options" button down and press the "Fuel" button 4 times
4. The computer will start displaying all of the codes. Have a pen and paper ready so you can write down all of the codes. Any code with a "H" is a history code.
5. Once the computer is finished press the reset key to enter Manual Configuration
6. To reset the codes press the reset button
7. Press the options button to advance to the next module
8. Repeat step 6 to clear all of the codes

Thanks for the reply,s guy's
Have booked the car in to BM's next week.

BlackZeD thank you for that info, very interesting had a go but for some reason I could not access the DIC with the engine off, the car has key less entry, ignition.

It may be the fob is not recognised as driver 1 or 2, will have to look in to it
tomorrow.

Unlike the C5, the C6 doesn't allow you to access the codes via the DIC. You can, though, access the DIC and other kit such as SatNav with the engine off - just press the bottom of the start/stop button, the Acc light will come on and you're in business.

Re; Engine check light
Took car into BM's today problem was an air filter on the intake,
apparently these are some form of cardboard like baffles in the intake,
one had become loose blocking the intake air.

Consequently there was maf sensor and oxygen sensor issues that were flagging error codes to the cpu hence the check engine light.

So an easy fix and thanks to you guy,s for the replies and thanks to the guy's at Bauer Millet for the repair.

She's now running as smooth as a smooth thing once again and harmony has returned to my world, for a brief moment anyway.
