I have a 2005 C6 with 66,000 miles on it from new. Looks great, trouble free, etc.

The only problem is that when if goes over a speed bump, I hear creaking from the car. It sounds like the chassis is creaking.

Any thoughts? Anyone have heard this from their car with similar miles?

Nope, maybe grease the tie rod ends at the rear, when you have the Z51 option they should be greased regularly.

It could either be the two wooden floor panels beneath your feet or the roof panel moving around. My early C6 (built in december 2004) did exactly the same.

Roof's definitely a candidate - does it make the same noises with the roof panel off? Another candidate (if it's more of a squeak than a creek) is the exhaust hangers.

Check the seats are secure and lubed at their joints. My C4 did that when the passenger seat was occupied. Not anymore though.

Seems like it is coming from the front suspension.

Possible?

Could be as above the tie rod ends, or possibly the anti roll bar
needing greasing on its bushes with silicone grease.

Sounds like the roof panel delaminating. I had the problem on my 2006 C6. There have been 2 recalls so far, first one to rebond roof, second one to replace. All 05 and 06 cars were recalled. Check with a GM dealer and he will check your VIN with the factory to see if you are eligable.

In some cases the problem is with the locating pins. Try greasing them this sometimes works.

My car is a 08MY and so far has had the roof greased and it still makes an awful noise have taken it to another dealer to look at and the noise has not been found.
It seems really bad when slowing pulling out of my garage, a creaking popping noise. Not sure what can been done but so much for early cars it seems the same on later cars too.....

Mine used to make creaking noises until I fitted the exhaust...now it probably still creaks but I can't hear it smile Seriously, mine creaks a bit too - I read somewhere that it can be the door locks/striker-plates, which would be consistent with it happening when you first get in the car. I also get some creaking which I think is the door glass moving against the seals. Seems to be a "feature" of cars that have window-indexing as Wendy's Beetle ragtop does the same.

Yeah i`d go with anti roll bar bushes, and maybe the rubber pads on the ends of
the front transverse springs, grease between pad and lower wishbone.

10,000 miles, I had a creaking noise coming out of a corner, which I assumed was suspension related. Took it in, when I picked it up, they said they changed the trans/rear oil. I said, I thought is was the suspension, he said there is a TSB. I said ok, drove home...no more sound, that was mid summer and the sound has not returned !
No charge from dealer.

Whether they bullshXtted me I've no idea, but that was what they put on the work sheet too.

Realise this thread is a few weeks old now, but I had this exact same problem on my old 2005 C6 Z51 and it was the front anti-roll bar bushes. Change the bushes for Pfadt ones (like I did), or take them off, spray them with a silicone-based spray and put them back on again... if it's the bushes, the noise will go away (for a while). Easy job to do.

My I-MiEV doesn't creak at all which is a blessing in a silent car. May I borrow your hat Martin?
