I have just spent an excellent week in The Scottish Highlands, good weather fantastic traffic free roads and strangely no midges.
On the way back south on the M6 through Cumbria, light traffic, dry roads, good weather, excellent visibility spotted a yellow van on the motorway bridge, thought nothing of it.
I had seen them all week in Scotland at roadworks etc maintenance vehicles.

Looked again when a bit closer spotted the camera sign on the side the camera guy in the side window, braked but too late, I was scamered.

Just received the Penalty notice 86 mph, £60 3 points, bugger.

Apparently they do this a all the time so beware of yellow vans on bridges up there.

I was up in Scotland last week and agree it was utterly brilliant, dry, warm, calm and no bugs!

We came down the the M6 too but luckily didn't see any vans, in fact we only saw one speed trap all week and we sort of knew about this one as it was in the next village from the place we had stayed the previous night.....and it was actually police with a hand held gun rather than an anonymous civvie in a van!

The section of the M74 around and north of Gretna Green is supposed to be one of fastest stretches of motorway in the UK - in as much as some of the highest illegal speeds have been recorded on it!
Who is doing these speeds? - I wouldn't know!!!bandit

Those venturing North are well warned to be very wary and on the lookout at all hours of the day and night for unmarked patrols and Camera Vans on the bridges in the Lockerbie Moffat and Abington areas and thence north towards Glasgow

Beware!cop
