If it's like the Camaro (and it probably is, you have to remove the front bumper cover. This entails pulling up the little mushroom poppers on the top edge and botom edge, removing the lower splash shield and releasing the two bolts underneath that allows the whole front section to slide off.

That's the theory. In practice (trying to fit a grille), the bolts holding the splash shield won't be moving any time soon without breaking something and those mushroom poppers don't look like they're coming up without breaking or taking someone's eye out. I fixed my grille on using my own method and gave up on the theory.

I guess the answer is to buy a Z06.

The front Euro side lamps are certainly an odd addition. I spent many an (un)happy hour wondering how they had been fitted before eventaully resorting to that old favourite - brute force. They must be fitted to the nose before it is assembled onto the car (as Lu51fer suggested), rendering a simple bulb change almost impossible.
Looking closely at the lamp you will see a black plastic "latch" that hooks the lamp onto the car. That latch has a screw through it which is completely inaccessible and which is tightened to grip the lamp onto the car. The good news is that the clamping screw passes though a slot rather than a hole so removal by force will not cause any damage. If you remove these side lamps don't forget that there is a large cable hole behind.
The lamps can be re-fitted without the screw and just relying on the plastic latch, although the fit is loose.
If you find a better solution for the front lights I'd be interested to know.

Guys,

Which lights are we talking about. The fog/driving lights? Or is this something specific to the euro model? I'm interested because my US spec only has the amber drls.

They are next to the factory fog lights but stick out like torpedos.....they are awful in my opinion. They need to hit the dustbin. Paul.

These are Euro only. You may have the mounting locations in the upper corner of the main slot in front of car - on the body colour part and not far from fog lamps.

I am both cheered and disheartened by this thread.

I am chuffed at the fact that I have managed to find exactly what I was looking for on here with only a little effort.

And broken-hearted by the fact that, as I'd thought, the "side lights" are going to be a right PITA.

My front end currently looks lopsided as one of the bulbs has gone.

Might be worth just wrenching them out.

Will it fail the MOT with no parking lamps?

You need white sidelights to pass the MOT. That's why GM fitted them. You can remove them more easily by removing the indicator unit and getting your hand in that way.

Glad to say I only have the fog lamps. My T85 headlights have sidelight housings. i tapped a small sidelight bulb into the parking light circuit. Much neater.

If you think that's a PITA, try changing a headlight bulb. Now that's a good way to waste a Saturday

OK
How do you replace the bulb?

I can't see anyway of getting to it?

It is very simple to get to the front indicator units and indeed the Euro spec side lights too. Like some other things it is better to approach from behind and underneath......... yikes

Where the front wheel arches curve underneath towards the nose there is an inspection panel which can be removed by taking out the 5 x 7mm screws that attaches each one. You might also be wise to remove the outer sections of the black plastic under nose spoiler. Once each of these panels is removed it is then a case of sticking your arm in an using feel only locating said bulb holder and either unclipping or untwisting each. Be aware that to prevent each from untwisting there is a plastic tab that needs to be pushed in towards the centre of each of the holders to allow it to turn. The bulb holders will only twist one way.

To make this job even easier I would recommend loosening the front wheel nuts, then jacking the front of the car up, remove the front wheels to allow easier access to the inspection panels.

If anyone needs any help please let me know as I have had my inspection panels on and off more times than I care to remember. It really is a simple task.
