I had a thread removed from here last night because it was advertising a number plate that I have that is 'vette related. (Had it on my old C5)

Anyway, whilst I readily accept that I had contravened the rules of posting (now that I've read the relevant bits) I'm wondering where I should post it.

Everyone used to post their reg plates in the same section of the classifieds as the relevant vehicle, so I could have advertised mine in the 'Corvettes for sale' section. Please don't take this as a rant, but the last time I tried to do this it was moved into 'Parts/Plates'>>'Registrations'>>'General', where nobody is going to come across it without some serious digging. (At the time of posting, there are 274 items in this section)

In the registrations section, there are vehicle specific boards for 11 makes of car as well as 'fun', 'general' and 'names'. It'd be nice if each car that has a section in Gassing Station had a section in Registrations. I mean, how many more Lamborghini or Noble registrations can there be for sale at any one time over and above that of Corvette registrations? (Or Jag/Aston etc) Is there any reason why just these 11 marques are treated differently while everything else gets dumped into the rather anonymous 'General' section? (Note that this section can't even be sorted alphabetically, so starting an advert with 'Corvette' or 'Vette' won't help anyone find it either)

I'll head off to CCCUK, Ebay et al I guess.

You are joking? Wasn't it MY04 VET or something like that?

Anyway, best of luck and I will pass it on through both the local clubs for you. I did think of buying MY09 VET which was available when I bought mine last year but I thought it may get up peoples noses a tad too much then. A year or so later it doesn't matter at all of course. It has gone since so someone out there has it!

Yep - had it advertised there for ages. I know Pistonheads gets more people reading it, so I thought I would try and advertise it here, but because of where they bury it, it's no better.

There just isn't a way to search for a vehicle-specific number plate on Pistonheads unless your car is one of the the makes/models mentioned earlier.

I've got a plate that I never used and is more generic for American cars but this too would not get found amongst all the others. I've just listed it on ebay, 160415978442

Any ideas where else to advertise a USA plate for sale?
It's always been on retention as I never bought the Camaro to put it on and now I'm overseas I have no need for it.
All suggestions welcome.

Advertise it in Classic American. They have an on-line site where you can insert an ad.
