Can't find a huge amount of detail at the moment, apart from mention of Corvette once again being marketed as a Chevrolet in Europe...and possibly RHD Camaro for 2011.

I did find this picture, which shows a GS convertible, a Z06 (I think) and a coupe in the distance (but too small to see if it's a wide or narrow body). One thing though: is it me, or do those mirrors look different (bigger and squared off)?

All of the cars in the shot are Euro spec - I expect that the mirrors have been enlarged due to new EU legislation.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. The new Roller has comedy-sized mirrors, but the Vette's don't look as bad. Just hope they're not wider overall. Can't help thinking the EU are trying to make cars as ugly as possible (and what's the betting Italian exotics somehow get away with tiny mirrors!)

Looks like the GS is going to be sold in both Coupe and Conv, The mirrors look bigger but I noticed no side repeaters on these Euro spec cars? Maybe they are putting signal mirrors on these cars??

Press Release
Chevrolet Corvette - The legend goes on
2010-03-02

Geneva. During the Chevrolet press conference at the 80th Geneva International Motor Show today, GM vice chairman Bob Lutz announced that the legendary Corvette sports car will continue to be available to European customers and more fully integrated into Chevrolet's European line-up.

"Our sales network will include select Chevrolet Europe retailers in addition to some of the current Corvette distributors, many of whom have been doing a fantastic job creating and serving a loyal and enthusiastic customer base," said Lutz.

The Chevrolet Corvette has been built and sold longer than any other sports car. Ever since its market introduction in 1953, the legendary American icon has been a dream car for generations of enthusiasts. In 2005, Chevrolet introduced the sixth-generation Corvette. In the following years, high performance versions, like the Corvette Z06 and the Corvette ZR1, were added to the line-up. Today, visitors of the Geneva motor show will find the new Corvette Grand Sport, another nameplate with great history, on the Chevrolet stand in hall 2.

"We are very proud to be responsible for the most iconic Chevrolet of all," said Wayne Brannon, Chevrolet Europe's president and managing director. "Like customers everywhere else in the world, European car buyers will see the Corvette lined-up alongside the rest of the Chevrolet range."

Every Chevrolet sold here now in the UK is a global chevy te Spark and Cruze are both going to be sold in the States as the Aveo already is now, So the Vette being sold would look the same here the States.

Does that mean the US vettes are also getting the new "dumbos ears" wing mirrors too? Can't do a lot for the drag co-efficient / fuel consumption let alone any chance of parking your Corvette in a UK garage with those monsterous things sticking out.

Will it need them? IIRC the wide body Vettes are about the same width across the back as they are from mirror tip to mirror tip.

I thought the same...which cost me a point at the Christmas quiz smile Turns out the Z06 is only 3.25 inches wider than a C6 (assuming the brochure is accurate), whereas the mirrors add about 9.5 inches to the width of a narrow-body C6. In other words, the current mirrors stick out about 3 inches beyond the body on a wide-body.

If you read carefully he points out 'select' Chevrolet dealers. I have already been given an indication of how many this would be for the U.K. and it isn't many, in fact very very few. I wouldn't worry too much about the brand being eroded by Chevrolet dealers too much. On that note, the current intention is only to market the Grand Sport convertible in the initial stages. Coupe may come later.

So no other Corvettes can be ordered for now In Euro spec?? When does the GS come to the UK?

Any prices on what the Grand sport and Z06 are going to be?

Also what will happen with the Cadillac/Corvette connection will Caddy try and sell their products in separate showrooms?
