There appears to be very few C6's for sale. Any ideas on where to look?Prices seem to vary wildly as well. What do you think is a reasonable price for an early C6 with average mileage?

This time last year there were loads if C6's for sale, Stratstones were having a huge clearout of stock which sold in a couple if months!! You can find a few nasty 05 imports but when I have seen them in the flesh they look well used cars hence the cheaper price. Z06's have not seen any for sale either. The main dealers have no stock of cars as well, Bauer Millett has had no stock for some time and Stratstones as well even Chris grahams website says that he has sold out of cars!! This is good for keeping values up. But due to a lack of new cars being sold no used are coming up for sale. Good luck in your search.....

I have counted 18 C6 for sale on P/heads,A/trader and Ebay,
none replicated.
Thats about normal I'd say,the only thng not normal is that 90% have been for sale for months and months, there have been quite a few other C6 been sold over that period, leaving the rest that could possibly be overpriced for the market?

If you are buying, always do a carfax check on any of the US imports.
A surprising number of the C5s and C6 that turn up here have an 'interesting' past.

The ones on auto trader are mostly 07my or in black!! Last year you would normally have. 20-25 nice cars for sale. And I do think lots of people do like bother with the imports as the offical cars are better value with the warranties, US cars just stick around a lot longer!

Thanks for the responses. Looks like I’m going to have to wait for a while yet. Don’t want to spend more than 20K on a daily driver.

All the best.

Martin.

I know someone (CCCUK member) who is due to be selling a 2005 6-speed manual in red (US import owned by him from brand new)in the next month or two.

You won't be far off the mark with that price. PM me and I'll put you in touch with him if you're interested.

2005's run a different ECU and Crank reluctor from the rest of the C6 years. A bd child in effect.
Id avoid personally if you intend to mod. Otherwise Im sure they are fine.

Thanks for the responses. I’m currently working overseas and won’t be back in the UK on a permanent basis until June this year. I’ll start looking seriously then. I visited my local Chevy dealer in Abu Dhabi yesterday. They had a bright yellow Z06 in the showroom. It looked stunning! The more I look at the C6 the more I like it. I have also looked at older 911’s and boxsters but they don’t feel that special in comparison to the ‘Vette. A 2008 model manual coupe with the 6.2 LS3 and the improved gear change would be my first choice but they are way over budget at the moment. My only concerns are LHD and the fuel economy.

LHD is a personal thing, but you'll get used to it. Fuel economy's better than you'd expect. I've got an '08 auto so probably a bit worse than a manual. I get a little over 22mpg (UK, not US) overall. On a long run I can get high-20s, if most of my driving's shorter journeys in cold weather (i.e. now) then I'll get 17-18mpg. Worst I've ever seen on a tank is 16mpg which was all journeys less than 5 miles or so.

I'm tempted by the new Grand Sport.... a hybrid of C6 and Z06 but retaining the targa roof.

Does anyone know if they are being imported into the UK? I see it on the US website, but not on the EU site.

As far as I'm aware there are no official Euro imports quite yet, but due to start again soon. Be interesting to see which variants do come in, and my money would be on either C6 or GS but not both.

Once the announcements are made tomorrow there is going to be a big reshuffle in europe for Cadillac and Corvette. Last I knew the plan was to bring the Convertible GranSport into the EU but not the Coupe.

Given the Governments' mis-management of our economy and yet the Tories inability to provide a credible alternative the current thinking is we will have a hung parliment after the upcoming election so as a result the pound is taking a battering against the US Dollar at the moment, yesterday it dipped below the £1 = $1.5 mark so the chance of importing yourself is looking a much less desirable option at the moment so I hope GM Europe will be supplying the ZR1 as well as the rest of the range!

I am not planning on upgrading my C6 Z06 any time soon as there is no way I can afford UK or US prices for a ZR1 frown

IMO it will be a bit of a risk if they bring nothing to Europe except the "wide body" cars. Amongst other things it would leave an obvious gap for the grey importers with a cheaper, narrower car.
