Ok, so I know this generation of 'Vettes are known for being soft and generally rubbish - but blimmin heck, where else can you get a car this impressive and oestentatious for under £7k?

I think I'd be sorely tempted were I in a position to afford it. To buy it as a powerful luxury car, not a sports car.

Jelly, chestwig etc - I know. But something about it appeals to me so much. And hell - I don't want to live in a world where a giant V8 chestwig for less than the price of a new Kia Soul is a bad idea.

Looks like a Japanese or possibly official Euro import car as it has the indicators in the rear facia, would be good to check the VIN number of the car and the options as this should tell you some of the history, looks like a great buy for the money.

Those sort of comments should be kept for AFTER you've had a drive.

At the moment C4s are amazing value at around £7k as are early C5s from around £13k. It remains a mystery why few Brits are willing even to consider one.

I agree, I just wanted to know if their very broad reputation is true, and whether it matters. smile

This generation of Vette is definitely not known for being soft and rubbish. In fact the first Z51 suspension cars are some of the hardest riding Vette's. They will keep up with much more expensive European sports car machinery of the same vintage (and newer!). They should also not be labelled as anything other than a sports car. They are an American interpretation of a sports car which may not be what Europeans are used to, but they are still sports cars.

Buy a C4, especially the later cars, or a C5, and you will not be disappointed.

Had a look at the Ad and it looks like it is worth a viewing. It is described as a 40th Aniv car which makes it a 1993 Model Year. That shouldn't really be a negotiating point, but it just annoys me in the UK when cars are registered later than their build year they can end up appearing newer! There's not much between 93 and 94MY cars, but i think the 94 was the first to get a passenger airbag. I had a 94 by the way, and it was a fantastic car!

What an informed post, coming from someone who has an MX5...

SERIOUS troll alert!

Maybe the OP should do a search for a number plate for his toy car. May I suggest: R37 ARD?

Always happy to see you come and visit the Corvette forum though! Have you noticed the General has launched some product which might just tempt you away from uncle Henry??

Hi Steve, yes though my "real love" is a Z06 but they're just holding onto their money too well...

However I would have doubtless had one for now if I hadn't "invested" (thrown away) so much money on Looyds shares last year. What a dead loss they are. About as useful as the OP here!!!
