It was around 1998 and I bought a 1977 C3 that was 'stolen & recovered' for 3 grand. Performance wasn't a requirement; it had the noise and presence! Later I bought a 1999 C5 which had the performance!! I'd like another one but over here in New Zealand they're a bit pricy and if I were to import one then there is all the LHD and frontal impact issues frown

Bought a 1981 C3 whilst on holiday in the US in 1988 and shipped it over. I've had six Vettes and one Camaro when we needed 4 seats for a time. My current C5 Z06 is the best by far with no plans to "upgrade" to something more "manly" just yet biggrinwink
Incredibly, all my previous US cars were at the CCCUK Nationals this year (including the Camaro).

After a '99 Camaro Z28 I bought an '01 C5 convertible, which was great apart from a leaking diff that none of the dealers in the network could fix... Used it as a daily-driver doing 15K miles a year. Now got a C6 convertible, also my only car.

Looks like we are all chasing each other around the forums Rich!

Mine was a silver C5 - that's what made me realise what a bargain good value sports car the Corvette range really is. The fact you have a Z06 is "manly" enough I reckon, especially with all those stickers....

Stickers?? mad Stickers?? madmad

Original, genuine vinyl decals as supplied by GM Racing to me and only me, meticulously applied by me and only me, except the enormous #3 on the roof, which was where I lost my bottle as I was tired after three days of stickering vinyling....................

However, an easy mistake to make Martin - you're forgiven!!

Yes they are indeed very nice genuine vinyl decals, and world famous in the Netherlands.

Phew - I thought I was in the ste then...

I do believe you do own the most desirable C5R Race rep in the UK XXXX Europe and why an earth I referred to those original vinyl appendages as stickers I will never know!!

Nigel who? Is he still a Z06 C6 owner one wonders?

Here is my C5, supplied with 1200 miles on the clock by Bramley (from Claremont)in 2001:

Hi Fred - thanks for posting the photo. We'll be at Corvette Fame again next year. Hope to see you there.

Ah, a common mistake by those unfamiliar with Corvettes, since both cars are yellow 2003 C5 Z06. However, the car featured in the photo actually ventured onto public roads and was driven to the Dutch location. This tends to narrow the field down to one car - i.e. mine.

Rob, as one friend to another, have you heard of Specsavers?? They may be able to help you.

However my C5 Z06 was the ORIGINAL stickered (sorry vinyled) yellow with a black arse.....the other is a shameless copy of a replica.......and the latest rebuild is continuing at a (snails) pace so expect to see the car on the road again very soon.......if you class "very soon" as before the end of the millenium.......and yes I do still own a very nice C6 Z06 that is for sale......just not very seriously at the moment!
Fitted my lovely new Meziere electric water pump to the C5 Z06 Twin Turbo last week smile

I'm not entirely covinced that the "oiks" fill them with water. Given the amount of beer consumed they should be able to "refill" that piece of kit with no trouble.
