Hi, I'm not a Corvette owner, but wondered if any ever came with a space-saver-spare-wheel? Have a car with adapted C5 hubs, and looking to carry a light weight spare if one was ever produced (rather than full size wheel) thanks for your help.

The C4 was the last model to carry a spare; since the C5 it's been run-flats or foam only, I'm afraid. If you don't get a positive answer on here, may be worth searching on the US Corvette forum as I'm sure I've seen posts from people who've found space-savers (for C6s at least) with the right bolt-pattern and a usable offset.

Would a space saver from a C4 not fit a C5 or C6 also?

I've got the original one in my garage, from memory they're not that light.

You can use monaro/gto space saver wheel fits like oem or (easier to get)x300/x308 xj6/xj8 space saver wheel and 5mm spacer to clear brakes on the front.

I used to do carry that on longer trips but You need a jack and a rachet with correct socket , piece of wood to protect underbody and another piece to drive over because the car with flat tyre sits to low for jack etc.

And all this would work if You still have stock size brakes.

Just get coninental comfort kit for 40GBP smile

Yes, a 3mm is j-u-s-t enough clearance over the front calipers so 5mm gives you certainty. Rear fit doesn't need a spacer at all.

NB 1. You will need a hub adapter as well because the centre bore of the Jag wheel is bigger than the Vette wheel. Stud alignment is perfect though.

NB 2. The Jaguar x-type wheel is different and is no good for a Vette.

NB 3. C6 Vettes differ from all other Vettes in wheel fitment, so none of this applies to C6.

All very true!

Yes, with bigger calipers finding a space-saver would be more of a problem.

Yes, good idea to carry one of those all the time and take your skinny spare as well when you do a long trip.

Full details of most cars and their wheel fitment on this link. Includes both PCD (stud pattern) and centre bore (size of hole in middle of wheel)

Thanks for all the info and help. That explains why the breakers with C5's didn't have any space savers! And thanks Dave for the kind offer. I think maybe the way to go is go visit the Holden forum, they may know where I can find a light weight one I can adapt to fit. Many thanks.
