Whilst walking through Tesco's on Friday I spotted a white C5, complete with body kit and a SEXTET of EXHAUSTS. (Very tasteful?!)

But it appears the fitment of the said exhausts has caused the poor fellow's steering column to fail. Anyone got any bright ideas as to why?

Someone must know who the owner is as there cannot be many white C5's around. Maybe we should surf the US forums for CLB help from a newbie.

I have met the chap - he bought it in from the US last year and lives near Chertsey, Surrey. He isn't into the Vette scene, just liked the car. Until he ruined XXXXX modified the looks of it that is...

I'm wondering if it is fitted with Turbos not Tescos?

Maybe it has a pair of rear mount turbos, and the extra pipes are the wastegate silencers lol

Or maybe he used to own a Corsa.

That's a really good welcome you've given a fellow Corvette owner there, good job.

The steering column fault is well-documented and causes the column to lock on. He should have fitted the column lock bypass.

I'm sorry Martin, I see ownership, and participation in ownership of one of these cars in an entirely different way to you.

I wondered where the Graham came from !!

Personally I don't think you do. I was the first to congratulate the chap on bringing the car in the week he purchased it, informed him all about the Corvette club of which he has so far declined and indeed our impromptu meetings on Fridays.

A couple of days later when the car was still there I left Ian Goss's number on his screen by way of assistance. Not sure if he followed it up but the car is not there now.

We all have different takes on how to doll up our pride and joy and if you can't have a few smiles on modifications - (least of all two very odd ball out-rigger exhausts!) then maybe the owner should have bought a Prius not a Corvette. I have bits lumped onto mine and I'm sure they are not to everyone’s liking but I'm not so sensitive that I would take offense. Having met the chap I am sure he wouldn't either.

I like a laugh and joke along the way, Martin is the only one who has met this chap, he has offered help and support as well as a joke its not bad thing as long as its in good taste, any modifications in bad taste deserve to be pointed out, and someone should be handed and ecklers catalogue.

I myself have a different take on modifications, there all a waste of time and money and I preferred to keep the car stock.

Okay okay, I'll send you an extra large Christmas card Sam.

Who's going to the Cranleigh Show (weather permitting) - this Sunday?

If you'd like to join us for the 'Cruise in' - we'll be meeting at 'Silent Pool' at 9:00 am on the A25 just down from Newlands Corner (coming from Guildford) - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&a...

We'll be leaving at 09:15am to go across to Cranleigh.

Could you please let me know if you're going to meet up at Silent Pool, so we know who we're waiting for!

(Six-shooters included)
