The Cranleigh & District Lions Club Classic Car Show

With just under a month to go, our 8th Classic Car Show & Autojumble on Sunday 16th August 2009 at the Cranleigh Showground is shaping up nicely.

We have over 600 classic vehicles registered already, including motorcycles, tractors, every-day cars, sports cars and a huge ex-RAF truck. There will be a number of clubs attending and I think you'll agree it's great to see these classic vehicles lined up, with their enthusiastic owners.

If you have a classic vehicle and you've not registered it's not too late! You can register online up until Saturday 15th August and receive your entry ticket immediately by email on our website - Register online for our Classic Car Show. Don't forget your classic vehicle gets in free, with the driver and one passenger.

You'll also find autojumble and antique stalls, plus activities for the younger children. We have more food stalls than last year and a licenced bar near our regular jazz band.

Taking you through the day in the commentary box will be Ian Wren and Mark Evans, who will also be overseeing the arena events we have lined up for you. The event list is still being finalised yet and we're hoping to have

Cranleigh's local Fire Service back to demonstrate how they deal with accidents on the road.

If you have a classic vehicle for sale you can enter it into our Automart for just £15 per vehicle. Your vehicle is in a prominent position just by the arena all day and it is displayed in the arena in the morning and afternoon. We will also make sure announcements are made during the day promoting the Automart area. The Automart is a great opportunity to show your vehicle to thousands of enthusiasts in one place. If you would like to enter your vehicle into the Automart please contact Chris Webb on 01483 275644 as soon as possible as we can't guarantee taking entries on the day due as we need to allocate space in advance.

Entry to the show costs just £5 per adult, children under 16 are free. A programme listing all cars registered before 19th July is available for £2. Plenty of car parking is available and free of charge.

If you've been to our Classic Car Show & Autojumble before you will know that the event is organised by the Cranleigh & District Lions Club to raise money to support local people and other Lions projects. All of the profit made at any of the Lions events is put to good use. The Lions is a worldwide organisation and whilst primarily focused on helping people in the individual club's locality, also has projects across the globe. Some of the profit from this year's show is going specifically to CHASE, an organisation that provides hospice services to children with life limiting illnesses and their families.

We hope that you can make it to the Classic Car Show and Autojumble on Sunday 16th August 2009 from 9am to 5pm and we look forward to seeing you there.

Please note that all attractions and arena events are subject to weather conditions and availability.
