Vertible bowl of spagetti reading the regs for importing a classic car

Quick question. SVA approval. Would a 63 car need SVA approval. From what i've read I think the answer is no, just an MOT is required.

Can anyone confirm please.

confused

Thanks

No SVA over ten years old, just an MoT.

The car once it is ten years or older will only need an MOT and for older stuff it is only required to have stuff it would have had at the time.

Don't even thing it would need a fog light for example, but it will need amber indicators......that should be the size of the task......there are a number of C1's in the UK so it can't be that difficult to get an MOT on an import......I would be tempted to find a red indicator sympathetic garage and just take it for a test once you get it off the boat to see if it passes......you will also find out if there is anything wrong with it.....i.e. chassis rot, failing brakes, knackered suspension etc.

Thanks for the replies.

I thought that was the case, that it only needs an MOT.

Reading through the Gvt website is not an easy process as the best of times..
