Or is it a marketing thing to get you to pick up the phone/wander in?

I'm SERIOUSLY considering the Corvette next. I've loved the C6 for years, and even got close, but ended up in a Monaro (it was a different time, and RHD was easier). I'd been following the Camaro too, but that's now not really coming here - and so it leaves me wondering what to do.

I kept an eye on the TG car - that was supposedly £39k - and if that's true, and they exist, I'd be interested.... I did a few searches but I'm unsure.

Any help? Ta!

Depends on whether Strats have got any left in stock! Try Stratstones Birmingham, remember they're desperate to clear stock, and make sure you get a big discount on list. Just be aware that the cars will have been sitting around for over a year so will have dead batteries (not just flat) and other niggles. Also make sure they provide all the documentation, do a PDI, fit a Tracker Horizon, etc. If you have any questions, ask them on here as Strats salespeople know the square-root of f-all about Vettes!

Yes they are real, I picked one up just over two weeks ago from Strats Birmingham.
I am really pleased I did, o.k. they be at least a year old but what value.

As previously mentioned be sure to get the battery replaced, the one in my car was u/s, others too have suffered this problem.
Be warned, it took almost two weeks to obtain a replacement battery, so insist on a replacement at the time of negotiation.

The PDI on mine missed the main headlight bulbs were blown and not correctly adjusted.
Don't be put off by these negatives, I just love the car and would still buy it again, although the dealers do leave a little to be desired.

Thanks for the quick replies - I'll find out some info. I'm not fussed about the age really; it's the "bargain" element. smile

Whitequay at Reading have the ex-top gear car sitting in their showroom for sale and Strats at Birmingham may still have a few new C6's left for under £39k OTR. Give Karen a ring, she knows what stock they have.

The guy who bought my previous C6 which is a minter has decided he really wants an Auto and that is up for sale too - around £25k and has many upgrades on it. PM me if you want the info on that one...

I like to get in a 6.2 with the updated interior - but I haven't done my numbers yet so I have to be realistic wink

Oh surprise, surprise,Stratstones Corvette websites return an error page.
Is this a general opinion or have they got website trouble?

Not sure I'd trust the accuracy of the stock/prices on their web-site anyway! If you need to contact them: BIRMINGHAM 0121 772 9371 | LONDON 0207 318 5322

If you can afford it, an '08 (with the 6.2 engine, better steering, improved auto box and interior upgrades) is a definite improvement on the '07. The one at Whitequay is also an '08, but it's spent time in the hands of Top Gear...nuff said!

I am aiming for an 08 over the previous cars - I want the LS3 mainly (and a manual) but also the interior upgrades and wheels. I just like the later cars. smile

The C6 at Whitequay is an upgraded car and in fact a Victory edition so benefits from the two tone interior, full width (ZR1 style) rear spolier, special graphite wheels etc etc. It looks the biz but can't remember if it is Auto or manual....

Who's up for Thames Valley Meet Wednesday night then?

Prices are real, but stock list is out of date. I'm on my 3rd new Z06 [none left!], and a friend has just bought a new yellow auto convertible. If another batch ever arrives, the cars will doubtless be way more expensive than they were.....

They will be long gone by the next model year!
Not sure if anyone will be doing it then.
