The headlights on main beam are poor, it appears that they need adjusting upwards, can anyone offer any advice on how to do this.

The owners manual says take it to a main dealer, as this would take me half a day, i would prefer to do it myself, if it is at all practical to do so.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for that link, seems the high beam is not adjustable and depends on the seating of the bulbs, I have just changed them so I guess I need to try and reseat them in a different position. The dipped beam seems fine.

Thanks for your help.

Find a vertical wall at the end of some horizontal road - multi-storey car park is perfect.

Park car with nose to wall, main beam headlamps "on".

Mark centres of beams on wall with chalk or insulating tape.

Reverse back 20 feet in a straight line.

Adjust headlamps so that beam centres are still on the chalk marks.

Job's a good 'un!

I've adjusted mine using an allen key through a hole in the inner wing behind the headlamp.

Something else that the PDI should have highlighted maybe. They even sent Rob (VetGuru) out with the wrong headlamps fitted on his last C6. Anyhow are you still pleased with it? Got used to left hand fully yet? Going to buy any goodies for it?!

Don't talk to me about headlights!! Reading dealer fitted the wrong headlamps when I did find this out, It took only six months to get both correct headlights fitted by Wavendon. The problem was getting the parts from GM! it finally got done in December, The issue was going to be it would not have passed an MOT with it and that was due in December but when I ordered them In July it seemed quite a bit away!

To be fair to the techs at Reading [r.i.p], when was the last time one of your techs checked that the saab that they are pdi'ing has rhd headlamps in? Kroymans were meant to do most of the pdi work before shipping to the UK...

Still, it meant that you were driving legally to Le Mans for two years!

I remember specifically trying to get them to ship a car to the UK with LHD lights in as they were needed for a Victory Edition that was heading for Russia. Of course this was impossible.

I agree this problem should have been corrected at the PDI, unfortunately they didn't even discover the main beam bulbs were blown never mind which way they were pointing.
I just love the car so much, strangely these issues don't distract from the pleasure at all.
One of the great things apart from driving it, is to me at least, it just looks so dam good from every angle and there not many cars you can say that about.

Unfortunately due to work commitments I haven't driven it as much as I would like and decided after due consideration on a conservative running in strategy. Almost done 500 miles so taking up to 4K rpm now, yes I know driving it like a girl but hope to keep it for some time, (always say that)so I figure its worth taking a bit of care now. I know there are diametric opposed views to this approach.

The left hand drive thing I am coming to terms with,no longer an issue generally, bit tricky on occasion pulling round things and I still park a foot of the curb (300mm for our younger viewers)most of the time.

With regard to goodies, probably an exhaust to give a better sound track, Borla Stinger seems to get rave reviews. That's about it satisfied with most other things.
I am really keen to do a few track days, never done any before so I don't know if after doing that my wish list will grow.

James the headlights were fine at PDI as Steve had done it! The problem was with when Reading replaced them due to condensation in the lens, Thats when they ordered the wrong ones! It was only when I took it to Wavendon that I found out Reading had fitted the wrong parts!!
Sorry James, Reading to me will always be a buch of useless arses! They never had a clue in sales or service. Nice to see Birmingham have taken on where they left off!!!!!banghead
