Toyota announced there losses at $7.6 billion dollars. That is more then the $6 billion posted by GM the other day. They had expected a 8.6 billion lose for the fiscal year, but appears it will be much bigger.

This goes to show that yes, GM needs to restructure, but it is not just GM losing money because it is GM. They are losing money because of the current industry enviroment

Except that this is Toyota's first loss and GM have been losing money for ages. There has to be a limit as to how many losses you can post (just look at my wife's housekeeping account) which is why the big three are struggling at the moment with recession coming on top of historically poor results.
