I have a deep dep passion fot the C1. In fact of all the cars I ever want, this car is at the top of my list and is top of the list of next cars cars.

Now, when you go looking around for one, there are a fair few number that are original and there are more than a few sprinkled around the net that have modern upgrades - powerplants etc.

My question, and I know it is totally naive in some respects, is most of the upgraded ones I have seen hover anywhere between 90 and 100 thousand of the little benjamins..

But why?.

I know, stupid question, but is there a reason why they would be so much more expensive than one that is more original?

Unless you're bothered about meeting NCRS standards it costs more to modernise than restore. A friend has a '58 with 600hp, tube frame, etc and the build cost was around $200k.
