Anyone had a good aftermarket system for their Ipod fitted in a C6? I know if you do not have the nav option you get a Mp3 jack, but sadly pay more for the Nav upgrade and you get none!
The ones that tune to a radio station are naff, I know GM were coming out with a fix but I think that's just for the States as it runs with the XM radio.

But I am not sure if you have to have XM radio or not? Maybe just the connectors?

Stratstone organised one for me, fitted by an outfit in North London. James or Stephen will remember the name...

It's wired into the FM aerial (not broadcasting) and it works well. I bought a bracket to attach the ipod to the dash, although an alternative was a fitting in one of the cup-holders (I have bluetooth fitted in one). Operation is via the ipod itself, which is fine.

I think that we got Auto Audio in Park Royal to fit it. Speak to Greg or Simon. I dropped my car off there yesterday and had a nose around the workshop -

3 1950s Bentley R type coupes
Porsche GT
Lambo 560 and 2 murcies
ex Sultan of Brunei amg merc van overflowing red leather and enough air conditioning units for an office block (a/c powered by a 4 cylinder petrol engine in the boot!)
C3
C5
C6
A dodge challengers undergoing SVA (looked quite involved removing bumpers and taking headlights apart)
early mustang
Loads of mundane stuff like astons, 'M' BMWs, various porsches and loads of other cars that I didn't get round to looking at!

I bought one off Ebay and it plugs into the XM transmitter box allowing you to control the iPhone/iPod functions from the steering wheel buttons. Will show you it Friday Rob if you are going to Wheels Day.

Robs car will not have an XM transmitter box, and the wiring loom is different on Euro models so there is no facility to retro fit one.

I spent a lot of time looking into this before going with the Auto Audio solution (for it was indeed they).

The haul of cars in the back was similar when I visited as to when James was there!

BTW this is the mount I bought, along with the right cradle for my ipod, which screwed to the mount:
