Heard news of Kroymans in trouble, I know GM were looking at getting rid of them at the end of the year. So what happens with Warranty work now if that's the case? Europe has a lot bigger network than us. This may be good in the long run for GM.

And maybe we won't get the "Kroymans tax" on parts?

Yep you are right - and Banruth are auctioning all their cars. Fields of them. Pity the exchange rate is so bad between GBP and Euro! (Still, why should you an I worry)

Is this why Stratstones have dozens of CTSs for sale?

Just dropped my car into Whitequay to get the roof liner replaced under warranty, and they were commenting on the impact of the Kroymans situation. They managed to get the necessary parts before Kroymans went t*ts-up, but now they (and I assume Strats and BM) don't have a way of getting anything other than basic service parts. So fingers-crossed no major problems until GM sort out the supply-chain...

The situation wasn't much different when Kroymans were meant to be supplying the parts!

I suspect that Bauer Millett proabably keep a reasonable stock of service items, in much the same way Wavendon do, but Whitequay will not have seen enough cars yet to make a decision on what to stock.

They didn't mention any dates - just that GM were working on a solution... I'll be popping in later to pick the car up, so I'll have a chat with Ian Jones (Service Manager) if he's around.

It's a very common problem with C6 convertibles - a couple of TSBs for it. Basically, the roof liner rubs on a sharp edge on the mechanism and wears through in the middle of the rear "pillar" (mine was on the passenger side). Fix is to replace the liner and some of the fixings. Because of where it wears out, you can't see the hole from your normal driving position so a lot of people are probably blissfully unaware it's worn through.

I'm not sure the American spec sensors work on Euro cars?

That's okay Nigel as long as they are not US ones - they won't work on a UK spec car.

Any one heard anymore about Kroymans and Warranty work being done in the UK? Are parts being ordered again?

When I picked my car up last Wednesday, they were hoping the new manual (fax) system for ordering parts would be in place by the end of the week. But they did say that the original plan had been for it to be in place by the end of the previous week...so they weren't making any guarantees.
