Does the passenger seat have a weight sensor that de-activates the passenger airbag if it doesn't detect an adult weight?

Or is there a manual switch-off somewhere?

Yes - the system has an automatic weight sensor which should switch off the passenger front/side airbag, when it detects that the passenger's seat is empty, or is supporting a load less than the weight of an adult.
The indication - off/on- shows in the rear view mirror.

Cheers John, might go and pick up the l'il un in the Z06 rather than the 456GT she's been forced to slum it in recently!

Congrats! How long are you going to run it in for?

I remember being very frustrated driving mine back from Germany. Had to keep it below 144mph the whole way... biggrin

Hi David, I read under 4500rpm for at least 500 miles but i'll get the book out over the weekend and read it. (might be a good idea). Any tips would be most welcome.

I read your write up and as with most things on your site found very informative and well written. First impressions so far in the short 154 miles I have driven it (ignoring the totally shagged battery but I'm sure they will replace that together with one of the tyre sensors stopping on the way home) is: A. Much better gear shift, in fact totally different. B. Clutch is so much lighter (but the last one wasn't heavy), c. Far more controlled over bumps and tends to wonder less over road surfaces, d. Far quieter - in fact too bloody quiet! e. Steering wheel is a much better size and feels great but I still think the steering is over assisted. f. Love the looks (as you know) and so it appeared did others on my journey home. g. Already picked up a small stone chip and no YU in sight!

I have the just the thing for the too quiet exhaust. I'll have to dig around to find it, but I have a brand new Mild2Wild remote exhaust controller.

You press a button to open the exhaust at all rpm. Unleashes that LS7 rumble!

In the meantime, there is a fuse you can pull from under the passenger side kick panel.
Go to corvetteforum.com and do a search under "exhaust fuse" and you will come up with loads of posts telling you how.

Only downside is it becomes boomy in 6th gear at about 1500rpm, hence why it needs a controller.

Congrats Martin on joining the C6 Z06 club, but this thread is useless without pictures!!!

To me the steering problem is that the ratio is too high not the level of assistance, regarding the exhaust get yourself a Bassani cat back system and some ear plugs......

Thanks Nigel. Interesting on the steering - I had the same feel on my Griffiths and from memory that had 2.1 turns lock to lock. Yes I saw you had that exhaust system fitted, I'll have to wait until I see you before I make a decision.
