Corvette Dealers!!!!!!!!!!

Well after owning our C5 Corvette for 7 years and with 85,000 miles on clock I think I can speak from experience about service from Corvette Dealers; I will only be dealing with those that I have personally dealt with.

Baur Millet: (Tup North) Manchester

Service Department; Very experienced, efficient, all work carried out to high standard. No hassle on warranty work.
Sales: Did not buy from them but staff polite, knowledgeable, competitive pricing.

Stratstone (Park Lane & Reading)

Never dealt with their service department, cant comment.
In early days dealt with Lee Buick (Sales) who was very helpful, he even brought along a C6 Coupe and C6 Convertible to one of our club nights and was taking people out on test drives all night. Could not fault his commitment to brand. Also was competitive on pricing.
Since his demise, which was a hard act to follow, I have been to both branches but various sales staff although keen lacked the brand knowledge.

Ian Goss Services (Down Sowf) Nr Surbiton

A small friendly family run business. Ian has over 20 years experience working on American Cars and has serviced and maintained our Corvette for the last couple of years. Always helpful and very knowledgeable.

2 other people in the Corvette world which I have either dealt with or spoken to also deserve a mention;

American Dreams:

Laid back sales attitude, but cars are normally top notch.

Chris Graham

Very helpful, knowledgeable, cars top notch and competitive pricing

Overview:
The sales and service and ownership of Corvette’s is a small and personal community and if anybody receives poor service or wants to make a fast buck out of Corvette owners this quickly gets around, however, there are many happy Corvette owners out there who have had a normal or fantastic service from their dealers who do not say anything, we need to keep this in mind when we read dealer bashing stories.

Some people for good reason feel they have a grievance with the dealer, the best way to deal with that is not scream and shout and stamp your feet and fire of threatening emails or letters (or put post on here) but Stop! Think! And remember every action has a consequence. Make your grievances known to the dealer, ask him politely to explain his actions and reasons why, then take your time in your response, be firm in requesting action, but in most cases most dealers will want to solve the issues, but don’t push them into a corner, remember life is a compromise.

But above all drive and enjoy your Corvette ownership.

For service, don't forget Steve Talbot at Stratstone/Corvette PDI in Wavendon, MK; a true enthusiast, and always helpful.

I have to agree on the main dealer service side Steve Talbot is excellent always helpful and if he is unsure he will find out for you. Again this week needed a service book stamped up he had it all done and supplied other service info with the book and had it on my doorstep back in two days. For Corvette and Cadillac he has always been very good!
