No it doesn't. What they are asking you for is a Certificate of Conformity and as an import it does not have one.

Certificate of conformity. Is this for u.K. cars made in the States, shipped to our shores and conforms to our regs.
Is this C of C difficult to obtain for personal imports.Have had 9 enquiries from france about my car. Looking to buy a GTR.

thanks,

Jamie

Certificate of Conformity is what cars are issued with once they are Whole Type Approved. This includes things like the internal motion sensors for the alarm, headlights washers and headlights with a Left Hand or Right Hand bias. U.S. spec. cars don't have a biased beam pattern. As a result of being an import your car is not Whole Type Approved and does not have a CoC. It cannot be issued with a CoC as it does not conform to the type approval standards. As a result it would be very difficult and costly to register in France so I doubt they will be buyers for your car.

Thought I would add that there is no problem exporting older cars to France. From memory anything pre 1994 is considered classic and quite easy to re register.

Yes, all the details are here but you'll need to polish your French!

http://www.drire.gouv.fr/national/demarches/dem_ve...

The DRIRE website gives full details of registering imported vehicles with or without Certificate of Conformity and deals separately with those over 25 years old.

Personally, I'd hesitate to tackle the beaurocracy without a good local contact.
