There's no telling what the C7 would be, but right now I doubt GM know what the C7 will turn out to be.

Right hand drive Corvette!! I think GM will never make one offically, demand is never going to be enough. How much must it have cost them to make the right jand drive Cadillac STS when they were selling them some years ago! The cost is not worth the low amount of sells.

There'd be a LOT more demand for Corvettes here IF they were made RHD too. Perhaps not this year though...

For my part I'd rather not see them now I have a LHD one.

I think it's important to say that manufacturers don't build RHD cars because of U.K. demand but because of the combined demand of South Africa, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, the U.K. et al. There would be some serious interest from South Africa and Australia for RHD Corvette and for that reason I wouldn't be surprised if it is discussed for C7. GM is looking to make every car it builds 'global'. You can't always guess what's going to be popular in individual markets so if everything can be sold all over the world you're covered!

Well, it sounds as though there definitely won't be a RHD version of the new Camaro. Quite how they're going to manage dealer support of just 100 cars accross the nation will be one of those great GM mysteries! Again.

http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyI...

"A cash-strapped General Motors has decided not to produce right-hand drive Camaros for the European market. Chevrolet will import only 100 left-hooker Camaros to the UK - just enough to avoid type-approval regulations - and only the 6.2-litre 422bhp V8. The 100 cars will be an even-split of coupes and convertibles, all in top-spec SS trim. The coupe will cost around £35,000, with imports here expected soon after the Spring launch in the US."

Probably in the same way they do it for Corvette (and it is a mystery)! smile From all the posts about C6's heading to mainland Europe there can't be that many left over here...

And I have to say, American car ownership is one of the few things that makes me wish I'd stayed in Bolton and not headed south looking for fame and fortune!

You could have stopped in Manchester as a happy compromise.

Is the Camaro story true? Mitch?

From as much as I can tell it is. We were never going to be an authorised dealer for Camaro as it was to go through Chevrolet dealers, so it doesn't change much for me. The cars were to be built by Holden in Australia, like the VXR Monaro's etc., but I guess they've had their wings clipped on funding.
