We've just sold a couple of new ones, but they're going abroad, even the one's bought by people with a British passport!

Maybe the question should be: who's planning on keeping their C6? If all the new ones are going abroad and most of the 2nd hand ones are disappearing to Europe, we're a dwindling breed!

if that's the case I will hold to mine! What's the point in just giving them away at a silly price

Was planning a ZR1 as an upgrade to the Z06 but cannot justify the cost due to the fall in value of sterling so will happily stick with the six.

I may be a voice in the wilderness here, but I'm seriously considering upgrading my C5 to a new(ish) C6 coupe in a couple of months time. I had thought that with the current economic situation in this country, the supply/demand equation would be tilted in my favour, but I'm not so sure that will be the case when I come to buy. There seems to be a real dearth of C6's available for sale at the moment, made more difficult for me because I am quite pedantic about colour (gotta be black, maybe blue at a push). Having said that, the few C6's you do see advertised seem to have been knocking around for ages, so does that mean I'm likely to get a decent discount when buying from a dealer?

There's been a couple of Victory Editions in the classifieds for ages, which are of particular interest to me, but I'm not sure whether those are genuinely still available. Anyone have any inside info? Or any general advice from anyone who's recently purchased a C6? I test drove a 2005 coupe recently and, though impressed with the refinements over the C5, was disappointed by the interior quality. I think that was improved from 2006 on though, and at least they ditched that "droopy" steering wheel! Not sure whether to go for manual or paddle-shift auto but, given the limited stock available, I may not have much of a choice in the matter!

And of course, I've got to sell my faithful C5 first...

We've been told to expect circa 5% price increases on Corvettes as of next Monday which won't help. There are certainly much fewer C6's/Z06's in the U.K. now than there were a few months ago.....

Mitch, did you find the new VAT rate helped new car sales? After all the media hype saying it doesn't make much difference to the regular man on the street, I wonder if it helped with expensive purchases?

The VAT drop was never going to make a difference because we had already discounted the vehicles, taking Z06 as an example, from £62,100 down to £54,990.
This is a discount offered by ourselves and Stratstone.
It is unsupported by GM.
When the VAT rate was dropped, we took the opportunity to restore a little bit of the surrendered margin.
The only people to take advantage of this ,so far, have been from mainland Europe.
Far from opening a branch in the south of England, maybe our next site needs to be in Calais or Ostend.

You'd be better off in the SE, if you were in France you'd lose the currency benefits!

JSB will stand out quite a bit in Broughton Astley! Did you do a deal with Birmingham then?

How come your wheels are up for sale?

Hi James.

Yes, they looked after me.
I was stretching to achieve the new one, so i put the wheels up for sale. I will regret selling them if they go, cos i think they will suit the blue!
