I drove past Stratstone Corvette/Cadillac in Reading yesterday - the car transporters were there loading up the last of the stock - looked very much like it was closing down.....

Fancy that, Stratstone closing another site.

Best wishes to Mark in the workshop & Elliott in sales. They at least tried to help during their stay there.

May not be very festive of me but serves them right..

I had the worst car experience ever with that 'shower' at Reading which took me 6 solid months of chasing and threatening to get resolved...

It's sad for the brand of Cadillac/Corvette they had a great looking showroom and parking and on site workshop, The great shame was poor customer service lack of knowledge were the downfall of this site.
The last time I went to look at a car on show the condition was so poor of the only 2 corvettes for sale, Torn seats badly repaired and dirty interiors and up for sale for 35K! I don't like to see anybody loose a Job but if this was my showroom these guys would not have been working for me.
It would seem Pendragons days of Corvettes are coming to an end?
Can't help thinking if you were offering an excellent sales and after sales and really making big bucks you would not close down.

I went past it the other day and only a Red 'vette' in the showroom was any indication of what the place was - all looked very quiet. I think next year will probably sort out quite a few dealers.

The viability of Reading was that it didn't have much of an overhead to speak of. It was tagged onto the Volvo showroom, so when the decision was taken to shut that, the overhead viability of the Cadillac and Corvette showroom disappeared.

I am lead to believe that Newcastle and Edinburgh have also shut which now leaves Birmingham and Park Lane.

Most bankers can't afford Christmas cards unlike ours who took Mr. M out for a large meal.

sad to hear for all the employees at this time frown

dont mean to be an opportunist, feels wrong considering what people are probably going through, but been after a Corvette for a while so it would be crazy for me not to ask.... if anyone knows where the stock is going? auction site/day etc?

maybe someone could email me?

Cheers

Park Lane and Birmingham it seems the end is nigh? How can GM run a brand from a couple of dealerships? Sells will drop off even more with less dealers, How can Park Lane sell any used stock? It alright if you know what you want, But you will always sell more used stock.

Essentially Park Lane only sells new vehicles as all used are kept either at Birmingham or Wavendon.

If you're interested in a new C6 then you've got a window of a couple of days. We've been warned of a price increase on the 2nd that could be anywhere from 3-11% due to currency rate fluctuations.
