Here in New Zealand is an anniversary Corvette for sale. A previous question was asked what makes it an anniversary edition. When I searched, the 2003 anniversary cars were Anniversary Red with sable. It should also have the suspension options, were these standard or optional? Are the RPO codes on the door sticker for me to ask the owner to tell me what its got. This is black with black interior. Can it be an anniversary car?
I like it but don't want to pay a premium for something its not.

Correct:-
50th Seat Head Rests Embroidery
50th Floor Mats
50th Front, Side & Rear Badge
Electronic Suspension as Standard
Wheels are Different ACC said they were Magnesium
50th Car Cover in a 50th Logo Black Bag
Corvette Owners Certificate with the 50th Logo
Colour Specific 50th Anniversary Red with Cream Shale Interior

It’s a wonderful car and a pleasure to drive, shame to sell but I have just dropped the price on mine to see if there are any takers, its in Poland but I can fetch it back or fly out to have a look at it for £40.00 from Stanstead. no problem

All 2003 Corvettes have the Silver 50th Anniversary badges on the nose and the boot lid (in the case of the Z06 or convertible) or rear hatch in the case of the Coupe.

They also had the 50th logo on the instruments and on the keys.

Owners manual bore the 50th logo and came in a leatherette pouch bearing the logo too.

(Just for trivia value...)

Thanks for all the replies. We can consider it not to be an anniversary model then, even though the seller is sure the US buyer knew what he was getting. I'll need to get the VIN to check its MY. Still a bit pricey by global values - works out about GBP30k, about 10k over?? Thats rarity value added on for being in New Zealand, strict LHD rules make it difficult to import.

Well - I'd say it is a 50th Anniversary model, but not a 50th Anniversary Comemorative Edition. Strictly speaking, all 2003 MY Corvettes were 50th anniversary models as they all had different badges, handbooks etc etc to distinguish them from cars built in other years.

I agree though, that to ask this amount extra for one that is not actually a 'Comemorative Edition' car is pushing the definition just a bit too far!

Thanks Brian, so he's correct with the anniversary but its not a commemorative car, that makes sense as I guess 2003 cars would be all red!

I will dig out the Original Catalogue when I get back to the uk next week,

The best thing to come with the car was the foc stuff, car cover history book in a Perspex box, 50th Owners plank, you just can’t buy that stuff. I really like the 50th logos on the seats as well.

The burgundy colour of the car also makes it stand out

all 2003 were aniversary "models"... but there was an optional anniversary package that was available. Only the 2003's that had the this optional aniversary package are to be called anniversary "editions".

Here's a few pics of an aniversary edition vert:

all aniversary "editions" had the same exterior paint color, and the same shale colored interior.

Thanks for the reply Tim, seems this car buyer omitted the 'Special Edition' option pack in 2003!!

Interesting car cover you have there, just what I need for my cars that are getting dusty!

Reducing Interior Noise

To be honest I found this more interesting as almost everyone I have spoken to gripes on about interior noise in he corvettes
