It belongs to Martin Colville of Bell & Colville. He also has a C6Z06. Lovely chap.

I saw that in 'Classifieds' , that's the third low mileage red 90 I've seen lately along with the one BM's sold and the one at Claremont. Have to admit it's a very clean car but at that price in this present climate it's likely to sit for a while.

Wow, lovely car at a price guaranteed to see it sitting in his showroom for a good few years - hope he likes it!

And that's from me, a lover of ZR-1s.

Must get a 'vette again soon and a ZR-1 would be one of my most likely choices. I'll have that one if he does a 50% off offer!

He's owned it from new so has probably become quite attached!

There is indeed no "e". So presumably the car's advertised as a Corvett....

I sometimes forget what the ZR-1 achieved back in 1990 - I think it puts the price of 1990 - 1995 ZR-1's into perspective when you consider this was a *stock* LT5 that broke the world record, nothing modified.

I used to have that picture as a phone background for ages Cliffy - it's funny when you think of some of the foibles the C4 has (in terms of a bit of a floppy chassis) that it was able to be repowered with the LT5 and do this sort of thing. If I remember rightly, the second car was a stock small block and did quite well too.

Alright Fran.
There is a discussion on the General Gassing forum on what makes a supercar, plus someone suggested - have Lotus ever made a supercar. OK they didn't make the ZR-1 but the engineering technology that Lotus put into the LT5 was the hard work that made the ZR-1 a record breaker. With the amount of records that fell to the ZR-1 I would unbiasedly (is there such a word biggrin ) argue it has supercar status and that on the face of it perhaps 20K is a very reasonable price for such a future historic collectors item.

From reports, the C4 that ran with the Z was a modified L98.

It'd be dopey to argue that the ZR1 wasn't (still is??) a supercar - it was busy wiping the floor with most of the competition in its day.

Go L98 Power! Just taken my (stock...) L98 out just now, due to very greasy conditions it felt like it had 400+Hp...!!!

(I was inspired to take it out after just having seen the Top Gear LS3 powered food mixer)

A-men, makes you wonder how many so called super cars of today rolleyes could run 24 hours at an avarage of 176 MPH. I was also told when they tore the engine down afterwards it showed NO sign of wear.

From my (in a 1990 Callaway) and Brett's (1990 ZR-1 before it was modded) experiences against fairly recent supercars like Ferrari 360s we both had cars that were the equal or sometimes faster than these contemporary modern supercars which I think is fairly impressive.

Always funny how American cars are completely ignored over here whereas "joe publics" lose control of their bodily functions at the sight of a 430 or something...

Mind you, people didn't get so much of a chance to look at ZR-1s as they were always driving past at a fair speed, as opposed to being stuck at the side of the road...
