Any idea what the above means when it shows on the stereo (and prevents you being able to listen to the radio)...?

If you were going through the Rotherhith or Limehouse link tunnel the radio can think that the RDS emergency broadcast frequency is being used [to warn us of the end of the world etc.] and the radio display comes up 'alarm'.

If all you heard was static then I guess everything's ok!

what happened to the alphabet anyway cheeky? I didn't know that it stopped at 'N'!

Good guess. Rotherhithe. But it's not happened before, in many 'crossings'.

Patience, patience for 'O'. What was the last one you came to?

I can't actually remember, but it was quite a while ago.

I got the alarm warning message for the first time ever this week, but couldn't remember if I was in Rotherhithe or Limehouse.
I remember it being a selling feature of RDS radios when they first came out )mid 90s?).

There's not much time to get the rest of the letters in before the New Year. Perhaps two venues in one night is the solution? I suggest Village East and the Woolpack as they are within 100yards of each other and 2 minutes from my front door...

I thought that the original intention was to get them done within 12 months, but on reflection perhaps that is a little optimistic (unless you're a student in which case one day would suffice).
